Communication Expert, Mateo Garcia Prieto, a consultant of the Anti-Corruption, Rule of Law and Accountability Programme (ARAP) has told the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) that digital communication is necessary in building awareness and controlling what is being said about the Office.
He said this when he took officers of the Public Affairs Unit in a three-day training session on Digital Communication and Writing Skills from 26th June, 2019 to 28th June, 2019 held at Coconut Grove Hotel.
The objective of the training was to train officers on how to write professionally for the website, identify and develop stories/news for the website and upload stories/news from the backend of the website.
Mateo Garcia Prieto stated that if EOCO wants to achieve its communication goals of creating awareness, imparting knowledge, project an image and invariably change behaviour then there is the need to disseminate information through digital content.
He further stated that the website should be seen as an integrate part of the Office and should host all the foreseen digital activities that is aimed at enhancing, constantly updating and promoting the content.
Mateo Garcia Prieto added that website content would only be good as the quality of information gathered. He advised that communication content should resonate with the various audiences and stakeholders the Office wants to reach.
The EOCO News Desk in an interview with some of the participants stated their interest and readiness to work build the image of the Office through website content.
