
On Wednesday, 26th October 2016, at 0900hours GMT, a Chinese delegation led by the Deputy Consular of the Peoples’ Republic of China, Mr. Wang Sheng paid a courtesy call on the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office-Mr Justice Tsar.
During the visit, the Peoples’ Republic of China donated the following items to the Office:
- 5 Hp Pro Book I3 Laptops
- 3 HP Dual Core Desk top with Monitors
- 2 Hp Scanner 200
- 2 Hp P1102 laser printer and
- 1 Canon Photocopier Machine image runner (2520) model
According to Mr. Wang Sheng, the donation is in recognition of the mandate of the Economic and Organised Crime Office in the fight against Transnational Organised Crime. Alluding to the longstanding relationship between Ghana and China, he indicated that the items will help to reinforce the mutual co-operation between EOCO and China. He’s hopeful that the modest donation will impact positively on the efforts of EOCO.
The Executive Director commended the Chinese for the donation and assured them of the readiness of EOCO to partner and co-operate with China in the fight against Transnational Organised Crime.
In furtherance of the expected collaboration and co-operation, the Deputy Consular requested that the Office draws the attention of the Chinese embassy of all investigations involving Chinese Nationals in Ghana for their appropriate action.
The Executive Director promised to furnish them with the relevant information as much as possible.
