On 27th August, 2022 a team from the Economic and Organised Crime Office interacted with a group of teens numbering about 90 at the Maranatha Methodist Church, Ashale Botwe.
The interactive programme sought to create awareness on the negative impacts of the use of social media, cyber bullying and gaming on children. It further sought to educate the teens on the dangers of patronizing gaming centres and various betting platforms. In addition the presentation threw light on the negative and positive usage of the internet.
The Team Leader, Mrs. Faustina Lartey advised the teens to desist from cyber bullying and encouraged them to report such issues to their teachers, parents and guardians who may in turn forward such complaints to the Cyber Security Authority on toll free number 292. She also entreated them to concentrate on their studies and eschew vices which lead to deviant behaviours.
EOCO’s participation at the teens retreat was at the instance of the Maranatha Methodist Church, Ashale Botwe.
