The Youth Ministry of the Apostolic Faith Church, Aplaku gathered in their numbers to learn about the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the offences the Office investigate.

On Sunday, 8^th March, 2020, a team of officers from the Public Affairs Unit of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) took the youth of Apostolic Faith Church, Aplaku through the mandate of the Office. The team also made a presentation on the dangers and legal implications of some of the cases the Office investigate such as cybercrime, money laundering, human trafficking and other serious offences.

At the end of the presentation, the youth questioned how they could protect themselves on the cyberspace. The team leader DSO Faustina Lartey answered that they should minimize the amount of personal information they put on social media, be careful when using free wifi, and protect identification numbers and passwords.

One of the youth present shared his experience of how someone impersonated him on social media.

The programme was held under the yearlong programme dubbed, “Awareness Creation Programme on Prohibited Cyber Activities, Money Laundering, Human Trafficking and other Serious Offences for Churches in the Greater Accra Region”.

The youth present at the programme expressed their gratitude to the team for organising such an educative and timely programme.
