MR. DANIEL YAW DOMELEVO
Mr. Daniel Yaw Domelevo is a distinguished Ghanaian public servant and a renowned anti-corruption advocate, serving as the Board Chairman of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). With a career defined by an unwavering commitment to public accountability and financial integrity, he brings decades of leadership in accounting, auditing, and public financial management to his role.
Mr. Domelevo's extensive career in public service includes 18 foundational years at the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. He later brought his expertise to the international stage, serving as a Senior Financial Management Specialist for the World Bank from 2010 to 2016, where he led public financial management reforms in Zimbabwe and Malawi. In 2016, he was appointed Auditor-General of Ghana, a role in which he became a transformative figure, championing transparency and the protection of the public purse.
His impactful tenure as Auditor-General earned him national acclaim. He became a sought-after voice on governance, famously delivering the keynote address at the 2018 Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu Memorial Lecture on the theme, “Protecting The Public Purse - Keeping the gate shut before the horse bolts.” In recognition of his profound impact, the Centre for Social Democracy and Friedrich Elbert Stiftung Foundation established the annual "Domelevo Accountability Lectures" in his honour in 2021. His expertise is also recognized globally, evidenced by his 2022 appointment to the board of the Global Fund, representing West and Central Africa on its Audit and Finance Committee.
Appointed to lead the EOCO board in August 2025, Mr. Domelevo brings a formidable blend of technical expertise and a strategic vision for institutional integrity. As Board Chairman, he is poised to guide EOCO in strengthening its operational effectiveness, enhancing asset recovery, and reinforcing its mandate to combat economic and organised crime with rigour and precision.
Mr. Domelevo holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana Business School and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
