On Wednesday, 16th July 2025, the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) received a high-level delegation from the first-ever Parliamentary Select Committee on Security and Intelligence at the EOCO Head Office in Accra.
The 11-member delegation, led by the Chairperson of the committee, Hon. Zanetor Agyeman- Rawlings- Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, paid a working visit to the Office. The visit was to familiarize itself with the operations, activities and challenges of EOCO as part of their mandate of oversight of all security and intelligence agencies in Ghana. They also sought to create cordial ties with the management of EOCO to ensure good working relations between the two bodies.
The Chairperson in her opening remarks explained that all high-level crimes that are perpetrated can be traced back to financial crimes which EOCO investigates. This, according to her, made it appropriate for the committee to visit the Office and acquaint itself with its activities.
The Executive Director of EOCO, Mr. Raymond Archer assured the Chairperson of the Office’s commitment to working with the committee to achieve its mandate. He further stated that the visit by the committee is an assuring indication that some challenges that the Office faces would be resolved. He added that the Office would continue to work tirelessly to its maximum capacity in the fight against economic and organised crime in Ghana.
